Flexibilizar los Servicios de Salud Mental para adaptarlos a las necesidades de los adolescentes: una estrategia de intervención comunitaria

Una parte importante de los adolescentes con trastornos psíquicos no reciben tratamiento, lo que exige nuevas estrategias de detección y de oferta asistencial, adaptadas a las caracteríscicas de esta población. Una de ellas es el Programa de Atención en la Institución Escolar (PAIE) que incluye talleres de prevención y orientación terapéutica. A través del P AIE han solicitado tratamiento el 49,3% de los jóvenes entre 14 y 17 años, atendidos en los Servicios de Salud Mental, y estas demandas no se hubieran realizado por las vías tradicionales de asistencia. Este programa contribuye a mejorar lo objetivos de los servicios de salud mental Ún requerir incrementos de los costes.
