Abstract

A sample of 72 adolescents and young adults (age 15-24) who have attempted suicide in the previous week are evaluated with the Beck Suicida! Intent Scale. Relations among the Sea/e results and the variables age, sex, DSM-ill-R diagnosis, history of other suicide attempts and lethality of the index attempt are explored. Suicida/ Intent clearly increases in those subjects diagnosed of Ajfective Disorder and less markedly in those with a non-low lethality ( only in the self-report portion of the scale). Age, sex and history of previous suicide attempts do not show statistically significant relation to Suicida/Intent.
