In this work, we present the first phase of the research whose main effort is to study the long term effects of divorce on children 's emotional adjustment. We intend to make an analysis of both, the injluence of some variables in the divorce process and psychopathological reaction and bad response indicators. The sample consists of 25 children whose parents are divorced. Nowadays, they are under psychotherapy. The presence of psychopathology in children was evaluated through the Achenbach 's Child Behavior Checklist (CBC). Two different questionnaires were a/so developed to obtain information about the divorce and psychotherapy processes. The leve! of psychopathology of the sample is not high. The misadaptation is expressed through the Attention disorders area, and internalizing seores increase with the age of the subjects. Finally, a protothypic profile of a subject in the sample was infered, was based on the most relevant studied variables.
