This article presents the study of 24 cases of selective mutism diagnosed in the Hospital Materno-Infantil Vall d'Hebron and the Asociación Londres 94, in Barcelona. The patients' ages ranged between 5 and 17 years. The results revealed a greater number of girls than boys among them, with a normal intelligence, and the presence of related symptoms like relationship difficulties or social phobia.
