The aim of this work is lo show the results of a statistical study made to know the intelectual skills outline of a 100 children sample aged 6-14 with school failure and sent to the Psychodiagnosis Unit of the Clínica Infantil Nen Jesús de Sabadell by the Paidopsychiatry and Neurology Unit of the same hospital to have psychological assessment of their intelectual level.
The results show that the subjects of the sample have a disarmonical development of the intelectual skills: the level of development is higher in handling qualities than in verbal ones. We have also found a highly significative correlation between the results obtained using factor g tests and manipulative tests. There is no correlation between the results from the general intelligence test and verbal tests. There are some disadvantaged subtests in the verbal scale, such as those influenced by sociocultural factors and early stimulation. This skills outline keeps going throughout the EGB zvitb let us suppose, although no longitudinal study has been made, that both contents and methodology used, at school are not sufficient enough to balance, during these school years, the socio-cultural deficits that this child from a deprivative social class show when he arrives to school.
