Abstract

Mania is part of what is currently called in psychiatry, mood disorders, according to the DSM-III nomenclature and disorders of the humor according to the ICD-10. By mood or humor means the emotional state, permanent, that completely colors psychic life, both in the sense of depression as of euphoria. The elevation excessive and pathological mood constitutes the disorder maniac.
