Writing an obituary always produces a certain melancholy and this is the case of the one we now write in memory of the old hysteria, the disease (then it was a disease, not a disorder) framed in the field of neurosis, already described by Hippocrates and Galen, which delighted Charcot and on which Freud practically founded psychoanalysis
