Bullying is a very relevant issue at present but very difficult to quantify. It has been shown the considerable impact of bullying on adolescents´ mental health. In recent years, several articles have been published relating to bullying as a factor of risk with the emergence of deliberate self-harm behaviors, including gestures with suicide intentionality. Methodology: Cross-sectional observational study design, with a clinical sample obtained from a mental health center (children and adolescent program) in the city of Madrid. A specifically designed questionnaire for this study was administered. Results: One hundred and twenty-nine cases were collected. From that sample, 22 cases of bullying (17.1% of the total sample) were detected. It was found 26 cases with deliberate self-harm behaviors, of which 7 cases had been bullied (31%). The percentage of deliberate self-harm in the bullying group was higher than in the control group. The sample with a history of bullying was the presence of suicide ideation than the group with no bullying history. The risk of suicide attempts in the bullying sample was not statistically significant. Conclusions: This study gives a general idea of the emotional impact of this behavior among equals, especially with significant consequences on the mental health of adolescents.
