Archiving and self-archiving policy
The Journal uses Open Journal Systems (OJS), compatible with LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), which guarantees the security and permanence of the archives. Information storage is done through the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), a channel that performs preservation in a decentralized and distributed way, allowing journals that are not part of any other digital preservation service (such as CLOCKSS or Portico) to have preservation capacity for long-term access.
Digital preservation policies
Revista de Psiquiatría Infanto-Juvenil has, through OJS (Open Journal System), a storage system that guarantees its digital preservation.
Moreover, the journal assigns a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), which is a persistent identifier, managed by Crossref, that guarantees identification and avoids localization problems due to URL changes or other issues.
PKP Preservation Network (PN)
PKP Preservation Network (PKP Preservation Network) provides free preservation services for any OJS journal that meets the basic criteria. In this regard, for digital preservation purposes, articles from the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry are stored in LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe), thus guaranteeing the journal a permanent and secure archive.
LOCKSS
Open Journal Systems, which hosts Revista de Psiquiatría Infanto-Juvenil, supports the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) system which guarantees a permanent and secure storage. LOCKSS is an open source program developed by the Stanford University Library that allows libraries to retain selected web journals by regularly searching registered journals to collect new published content and store it. Each archive is continuously validated against records from other libraries, so any damaged or lost content can be restored using those records or the journal itself.
CLOCKSS
Open Journal Systems also supports CLOCKSS (Controlled Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) to ensure a permanent and secure storage for the journal. CLOCKSS is based on the open source LOCKSS software developed at Stanford University Library, which allows libraries to preserve selected web journals by regularly checking registered journal websites for recently published content and storing it. Each archive is constantly validated against other library caches and, if it is detected that content has been corrupted or lost, the other caches or the journal itself are used to restore it.
Revista de Psiquiatría Infanto-Juvenil is also complete and in open access in different databases such as DIALNET, which guarantees identification and avoids localization problems due to URL changes or other issues.
Finally, the journal publishes an HTML and XML version of each article, which allows it to be exported to formats other than PDF, which exist at present or may appear in the future.
