Resumen
El estudio de los mecanismos de neurotransmisión constituye un capítulo central en la investigación de los trastornos del desarrollo en Psiquiatría Infantil y, por supuesto, en la investigación de los trastornos depresivos y de la esquizofrenia. Sus aplicaciones abarcan dos grandes áreas: el descubrimiento de los mecanismos etiopatogénicos subyacentes y el hallazgo de nuevos fármacos y alternativas terapéuticas.
