Se lleva a cabo una revisión bibliográfica sobre el trastorno disocial en la infancia y adolescencia, su relación y evolución hacia el trastorno antisocial de la personalidad del adulto y su etiopatogenia. Se enfatiza en la relevancia y mal pronóstico de este trastorno y se reflexiona acerca de su inadecuada delimitación nosológica en los manuales DSM y CIE 10 en vigor, ya que su alta continuidad hacia TAP permite pensar que la personalidad antisocial se configura como tal bastante antes de los 18 años. Se concluye la necesidad de estudios longitudinales prospectivos sobre el tema, a pesar de su dificultad metodológica, dada la trascendencia sanitaria y social de la cuestión.
