Madres con Trastornos de la Conducta Alimentaria y su impacto en la crianza: una revisión narrativa

Objetivo: Estudiar el impacto de un Trastorno de la Conducta Alimentaria (TCA) en la madre sobre la descendencia y si la presencia de este afecta a la calidad de la interacción madre-bebé a lo largo de la infancia hasta la adolescencia, así como sus consecuencias. Método: Se realizó una revisión cualitativa narrativa de la literatura de numerosas bases de datos (PubMed, PsycInfo y Scopus) que examinó cualquier resultado de TCA en madres y su afectación en la descendencia. Resultados: Esto llevó a 22 estudios incluidos (6 estudios de cohorte, 6 revisiones, 3 revisiones sistemáticas, 2 estudios observacionales, 4 estudios longitudinales y 1 estudio transversal). Se identificaron una variedad de resultados adversos para la descendencia, incluidas alteraciones en el apego y vínculo, así como en el juego y la alimentación. Conclusión: El periodo perinatal es una etapa de riesgo para recaídas o el agravamiento del TCA en la madre. La presencia de un TCA en la madre, presente o pasado, se asocia a problemas en la interacción con la descendencia, especialmente en momentos de alimentación. Esto puede afectar la relación entre madre e hijo, así como la relación del niño o niña con la alimentación a corto y largo plazo.
