Abstract

We study the social and Jami(y adjustment in a sample of adolescents of 733 young Galícían people from urban areas between 12 and 18 years of age who are representative of ali Galicían adolescents from urban areas, around 111,571.Tbe adolescents completed a general questtonnaire designed in our department, in which we chuse questions in relatiun to our study. Tbe sea/es of social and Jamily adjustment Jrom the Bell adolescence adjustment test were used. Tbe results show a clear relationship between some sattef actory famtly adjustment levels wtth a proper relatíon with both parents, the non-exístence of Javorítisms tn the treatment of síblings at home and the need of the adolescent to communicate ajter a problematic situation. Tbe social adaptation does not show such clear patterns of relationship with the studied areas although a general tendency, similar to the Jamily adjustment, can be observed, with some exceptions.
