Abstract

The characteristics of suicide attempted in 67 adolescents and young people in Bayamo, Granma, Cuba in 1991 were investigated. The results were the following: 37,3% were between 15 to 16 years old; 50,7% had high school level; 52,2% were housewife; 41,8% were repeaters. The confl.icts with the couple and the sadness were the most frequent motive and grief respective/y, previous suicide acts.
