This article attempts to measure the quality of Children 's psychiatry training far residents (MIR programme). To achieve this, in march 1994, we sent a questionaire about training in psychiatry speciality to residents all over Spain. This questionaire was answered by 80% of the hospitals consulted. Children 's Psychiatry Learning is available in 92 per cent of institutions. There are some differences in the information obtained in General Hospitals and in Psychiatric Hospitals. The duration of the rotatory is similar in both institutions; there are more asistencial pressure for residents from Psychiatric Hospital and the ratio staffresidents is also higher in the latter (although it is always under the training programme recomendations). The degree of satisfaction is acceptable in both institutions. We also compared the results in the Valencian Community and the rest of Spain, and we found that the assistencial pressure and the ratio stalf residents are higher in the former. There are no differences in duration of the rotatory, and the leve! of satisfaction in Valencian Comunity is lower than desirable.
