Non-tricyclic antidepressantsAbstract
As we all know, the arrival of non-tricyclic antidepressants (basically Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors, SSRI for short) was an important advance in psychiatry. Although their superiority has not been proven, they have fewer side effects, less toxicity, and a broader therapeutic potential. The most consistent data on efficacy and safety in children and adolescents come from studies in the acute phase, and long-term treatment studies are still needed, as do others aimed at clarifying the pharmacokinetics of these drugs during developmental development.
