There has been an increased risk of eating disorders in athletes, especially in women. Predisposing risk factors include age (13-20) and maternal obesity; among precipitants, criticism of the body and as a perpetuating factor, the consequence of starvation (menstrual delay of more than 3 months). Due to the severity of this disorder, adequate detection and prevention is essential. In this context, we describe a clinical case as a reference to deepen this pathology closely related to the sports field.
