The group psychotherapy is a unique technique amongst all the therapies: you get the chance to establish several relationships, creates a rich context and suitable for a personal change.
This is a powerful tool due to the importance of the personal interactions in our psychological development and the sense of juncture that the group therapy provides. Yalom described those therapeutical factors that could appear in any group type. (1)
There are so many groups as individual theories as well as techniques and we are describing some of the most common ones.
On the other hand, we can not forget the suitability of the groups in health assistance, in this case the reduced number of professionals do not allow a useful psychotherapy on a individual basis. (2)
The rules and ways of expression are interrelated. Priority is verbalization; however, at certain stages using other material such we drawing or playing is essential. There are many indications for the group therapy, amongst the contraindications we can highlight how important is to set boundaries in aggressive behaviour. (2)
